Emmerdale's festive season is set for more turmoil as killer Meena Jutla escalates her reign of terror. Next week's episodes will see Vinny Dingle and Manpreet Sharma fight for their lives after being kidnapped and held captive by Meena.
Vinny, who had turned detective and suspected Meena of Ben's death, is left horrified as Manpreet reveals details of Meena's previous victims. In a desperate bid for freedom, Vinny kicks his house keys to Manpreet, but their escape attempt is thwarted when Meena returns and forces more drugs on her sister.
Meanwhile, GP Liam Cavanagh grows suspicious after discovering Meena's medical records do not mention her pregnancy or miscarriage. When confronted, Meena threatens to accuse him of sexual harassment at the surgery Christmas party if he does not drop the matter.
Back in the barn, Manpreet manages to free herself and attacks Meena, wounding her wrist. However, Meena regains control and retrains her sister. With the keys out of reach, Vinny loses hope as Meena declares this will be their last day alive. She drives the Dingle van into the barn, filling it with exhaust fumes, leaving Vinny and Manpreet in mortal fear.
Elsewhere in the village, Tracy is offered a new job in Nottingham, leaving her torn about the disruption to her personal life. When she breaks the news to Nate, he is crestfallen, potentially jeopardising their reunion.
