Emmerdale Villain John Sugden Returns More Unhinged Than Ever

John Sugden, one of Emmerdale's most notorious villains, is set to make a shock return to the Dales as part of the upcoming Corriedale crossover with Coronation Street. Actor Oliver Farnworth, who plays the character, confirmed the news, warning that John will be more 'unhinged' than ever before.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Farnworth revealed that the crossover has been in production since August or September, and that John's return is driven by love and jealousy. 'He feels like he has got far less to lose this time, and so we might see a slightly more dishevelled and unhinged side to John,' he said.

John disappeared months ago after his crimes were exposed, including killing Nate Robinson, drugging Chas Dingle, and attempting to kill himself and husband Aaron Dingle. His return is expected to cause chaos for Robert Sugden and Aaron, both involved in the crossover.

Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert, described the crossover as 'full throttle' and warned that its events will 'change both shows forever'. The high-stakes storyline promises to be a big spectacle, with John's return threatening to upend lives in the Dales.

Fans can expect drama as John's past actions—from triggering an allergic reaction in Jacob to saving lives during a barn fire—come back to haunt him. With his return imminent, the question remains: who is at risk this time?
