Emmerdale and Coronation Street Pulled from ITV Schedule This Week

Fans of Emmerdale and Coronation Street are in for a letdown as the popular soaps are temporarily dropped from ITV's schedule this week. An upcoming England football match means that Emmerdale will be sidelined from the ITV roster on Tuesday, September 10, due to the channel airing the England men's football team's match against Finland.

This scheduling reshuffle occurs during a crucial time for Emmerdale, with Tom King and Belle Dingle's rocky marriage taking even more shocking turns, according to Leeds Live. On Wednesday, September 13, the National Television Awards will be broadcast live from London's O2 Arena, meaning Coronation Street will not air that night.

The Masked Singer UK presenter Joel Dommett will host the star-studded awards ceremony which honours the Best of British TV. Fans will see actors settling into their seats in the auditorium as the show kicks off at 8pm and continues until at least 10:35pm. However, an episode of Emmerdale will air on Wednesday right before the 2024 NTAs.

At the eagerly-awaited ceremony, major shows will compete for the public vote. This Morning, which has been a recipient of the Best Daytime/Live Magazine Show award for over a decade, faced an awkward halt when the presenters resigned. From 2011 to 2022, former hosts such as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby consistently won the award, but in a surprising turn of events, the show lost to The Repair Shop in the 2023 nominations.

This year, contenders like Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley will compete against shows like Loose Women for the daytime TV crown.
