Former Emmerdale actress Elaine Claxton is set to appear in the latest episode of BBC's Beyond Paradise, airing Friday 24 April. Claxton, known for playing Martha Pierce in the ITV soap, takes on the role of Mavis in the crime drama.
In the episode, detectives Humphrey (Kris Marshall) and Esther (Zahra Ahmadi) are baffled when a dog walker leads them to a man painted green and bound with ivy. The investigation uncovers an off-grid community living under threat from city developers, with the mythical Green Man appearing at crime scenes.
Claxton's character Mavis is seen walking her dog Honey. Soap fans may recognise her from Emmerdale, where she played Martha Pierce, the estranged mother of villain Pierce Harris. Martha arrived in the Dales in April 2017, exposing Pierce's lies about his family and hinting at a past mistake.
After Pierce raped Rhona Goskirk on their wedding night, Martha initially stood by her son before leaving the show in June 2017. Beyond Emmerdale, Claxton has appeared in numerous TV shows including The Bill, EastEnders, Bad Girls, Doc Martin, and Black Mirror.
