Sadie King's (Patsy Kensit) plan to destroy Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly) takes a disturbing turn in Emmerdale next week. Sadie joined forces with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) recently to ruin everything for Caleb and Ruby. For Joe, he still wants to get revenge on them because he believes they are the reason Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) is dead, while Sadie is motivated by money.
Sadie manipulates Ruby's drinking
Coming up, as she capitalises on Caleb's concern that Ruby is drinking too much, Sadie manipulates the situation by promising to watch over Ruby for a bit. As soon as Caleb leaves, Sadie goads Ruby into visiting the pub. She reveals that Caleb asked her to keep an eye on her, framing it as a control issue to spur Ruby's defiance.
At the pub, Sadie stirs conflict by prompting a discussion about Manpreet Sharma's (Rebecca Sarker) past. An argument kicks off between the local GP and Ruby, forcing Caleb to arrive and intervene. Sadie plays the supportive friend to Ruby while lying to Caleb about her efforts to stop the drinking.
Ruby's defiance grows
With Caleb and Ruby's relationship reaching a bump in the road, Sadie makes things worse by suggesting to Ruby that Caleb is controlling. Prior to a business meeting, Sadie manages to convince Ruby to have a drink. When Caleb enters the office, he's furious to see Ruby with some wine in her hand.
As she witnesses Caleb's anger grow, Ruby remembers Sadie's comment about Caleb being manipulative and deliberately drinks more alcohol. The argument Caleb and Ruby have is witnessed by a client. Annoyed, Ruby storms off.
Sadie's plan takes effect
As soon as Ruby leaves, Sadie tells Caleb that his wife has a problem with alcohol. And when Sadie finds Ruby a while later, she continues to push the narrative that Caleb has an issue with her independence. It appears Sadie's plan is working.
