Emmerdale: Lewis in Devastating State as Kev Is Knocked Out

Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) was the only person who could save kidnapped Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) in Emmerdale, but he is currently lying unconscious on Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) sofa after being knocked out by him. The bloke with the man-bun and delightful lemon drizzle cake recipe returned yesterday after Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) informed him that his son Lewis had been taken.

Hostage Situation Unfolds

The person holding Lewis hostage, Kylie, has told his family that he will be freed once Kev gives Penny back to her. For a while, Ross and Liam believed Penny was a woman, but Kev revealed that it is actually a diamond. He told them the item is at a pawnbrokers, and Ross essentially kicked him out, instructing him not to return until he had retrieved the necklace.

Outside, however, Kev did not prioritise the right thing, as it was disclosed that he has Kylie’s diamond and has no intention of returning it. The trouble continued for Lewis in tonight’s episode, as he remained trapped in the room at Kylie’s house. The young man is in a terrible state—in an unfamiliar place with an unknown woman, after being thrown into the back of a van by masked men.

Lewis's Anxiety Escalates

Lewis loves routine and structure, and his anxiety levels have increased tenfold due to his inability to engage in his usual activities. He began stimming in front of Kylie, a common behaviour for neurodivergent individuals to regulate emotions. Surprisingly, Kylie felt sympathy for Lewis and wanted to help, but told him she would do anything except let him go.

Back in the village, Kev had a change of heart about keeping the necklace. He arrived at Dale View and spun a story about retrieving it from the pawnbrokers. Kev held the key to freeing Lewis, but for some reason, Ross then decided to knock him out with a vase.

Ross's Decision Leads to Consequences

Ross told a shocked Liam that they could use Kev as an insurance policy for their trade, but there was no real need for that move. With Kev unconscious, Lewis will spend longer at Kylie’s house. The question remains: what state will he be in when he is eventually freed?
