Emmerdale viewers are convinced that newcomer John Sugden is hiding a dark secret after he refused to call the police when his van was stolen. The character, played by Oliver Farnworth, made his debut last week as the long-lost son of Jack Sugden.
In Monday's episode (August 12), Aaron Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd stole John's beloved van and dumped it in a lake as revenge for a previous clash. When John discovered the theft, he was urged to report it to the police but quickly shut down the idea, sparking suspicion among fans.
Taking to social media, one viewer wrote: 'Not too sure on this John guy I can't quite figure him out something doesn't seem right. He's definitely got something to hide but what.' Another added: 'Notice he didn't want Sarah to call the police!'
Some fans theorised that John could be on the run after committing a crime involving his van. One commented: 'He could be on the run after he killed someone in his van, and that's why he's so protective about it.' Another said: 'That would make sense! He is quite creepy. The next village murderer?'
John's arrival has already caused shockwaves in the village, particularly for Victoria Sugden, who had no idea she had another sibling, and Aaron, who had a steamy encounter with John before realising he was the brother of his ex-husband Robert Sugden.
