Emmerdale aired major revelations this evening as the truth behind Baby Tate's kidnapping was finally explained, with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) revealed as Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) accomplice in the plot against Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) and Kim Tate (Claire King).
Gabby's Role and Joe's Manipulation
Gabby was shown to be deeply apologetic upon realising that Joe had misrepresented the situation when he asked for her help. Joe, however, remained remorseless, boasting about how easy it was to manipulate Gabby by exploiting her guilt over the accident that killed Dawn and Jimmy.
As it stands, Joe has yet to show any interest in raising his child, but Graham's suspicions that he might change his mind could prove correct.
What Happens Next in Emmerdale
Spoilers for Friday, October 30 and beyond reveal that Joe is not the only one manipulating people, at least not directly. Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) continues to work under Joe's instructions to split up Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly), planting the idea in Ruby's mind that Caleb is controlling.
Going into next week, Sadie grows frustrated by Ruby's determination to stay sober, fearing her plan isn't working as expected. In desperation, Sadie sneaks a switch of drinks, spiking Ruby's until she is drunk. The evening in the pub escalates, and Caleb arrives just in time to see Ruby collapsing on top of Ross Barton (Michael Parr), all orchestrated by Sadie.
Other Storylines Unfold
Caleb is furious, and Sadie further stirs the pot by insinuating that something is going on between his wife and Ross. When Ruby finds out, she confronts Sadie about her lies.
Elsewhere, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is offered an opportunity that is impossible to turn down, causing a major rift between Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins). Meanwhile, Belle faces consequences at work after sharing her fears about a client's behaviour with his wife, unaware that things are set to get worse as a bouquet of flowers is delivered. At the same time, as Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) continues to struggle with her grief, Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) steps in to help, surprising her with his more vulnerable side.
