Emmerdale fans 'work out' Rhona's mystery caller is Graham Foster
Emmerdale fans 'work out' Rhona's secret caller

Emmerdale fans are buzzing with a major new theory, convinced they have identified the mysterious person Rhona Goskirk has been contacting in a series of secretive phone calls.

The Cryptic Calls That Sparked Speculation

This week, following the revelation of Ray Walters' murder, viewers saw Rhona engaged in a hushed phone conversation she was keen to hide from her husband, Marlon Dingle. During the call, she urgently asked the person on the other end, "Have you done it?" The nature of the question and the identity of the recipient were left deliberately unclear.

The plot thickened during Wednesday's episode when Rhona again attempted to secretly call someone. This time, the call went unanswered, but she left a desperate voicemail. She was heard saying, "Call me back as soon as possible please. April is going to the police." Her tone suggested this news would significantly impact the mystery recipient, even though April's intention was to report Ray and Celia Daniels for drug dealing and sexual exploitation.

Is a Familiar Face Back in the Frame?

This secretive behaviour has led fans to one compelling conclusion: Rhona is in contact with her presumed-dead ex-husband, Graham Foster. Graham made a shock return from the dead during the Corriedale special, after being killed off back in 2020. Notably, he was also seen on the phone in his comeback scene, adding fuel to the theory.

Viewers are now connecting the dots, speculating that Rhona's calls are to Graham and that he may be involved in Ray's death. The timing of Graham's return alongside Rhona's secretive actions seems too coincidental for many.

What Are Emmerdale Viewers Saying?

On social media, fan speculation is running rife. One viewer stated, "It has to be Graham - surely!" while another simply wrote, "Graham methinks..."

A third fan agreed, commenting, "Yes, Rhona still having secret phone chats today and I did wonder if it was to Graham." The theory gathered more steam as others pondered the link to Ray's murder. One detailed post read, "I think it was Graham who Rhona spoke to... I think it was Graham who killed Ray."

Another fan questioned, "Rhona phoned someone to warn them that April was going to the police station... is Rhona in contact with Graham?" The consensus among a vocal section of the audience is clear, with comments like, "It has to be Graham right? Seems like too much of a coincidence otherwise," and "I defo think it's Graham. Who else would it be?"

This "back from the dead" trope is currently popular in soaps, following similar returns in Coronation Street and EastEnders. It appears Emmerdale writers are using Graham's surprise resurrection to quickly tie up the Ray Walters storyline while setting up future drama.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
