Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out how Graham Foster survived his apparent murder in 2020. The character made a shock return during Monday night's episode, placing a mysterious phone call, leaving fans baffled as to how he is still alive.
At the time of his death, Graham was killed by Pierce Harris, and his body was shown on screen. However, some fans now believe he faked his death with help from other characters. Theories include the involvement of his ex-wife Rhona Goskirk or Kim Tate, who may have helped him escape after Pierce's attack.
One fan suggested: 'My head canon is that after he was killed by Pierce, Graham pretended to be dead. Off-screen, he phones contacts and gets them to put make-up on him, making his body all pale so he looks dead.' Another added: 'I guess he faked Joe's death, him faking his own would be like a walk in the park. He's a former SAS soldier.'
Other viewers have proposed a twin theory, noting that subtitles referred to the character as 'Bruce' during the episode. One fan said: 'Maybe Graham isn't Graham,' while another questioned: 'Someone said the subtitles said he was Bruce!?!' A third added: 'Maybe it's his twin brother? Because last time we saw Graham he was very much dead.'
Emmerdale continues weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with fans eagerly awaiting further revelations about Graham's return.
