Emmerdale fans have been left stunned and angered after watching Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) destroy her relationship with son Ryan Stocks (James Moore) in the June 30 episode. The beloved character has been spiralling in the aftermath of being raped by Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker).
Charity's Cruel Words to Ryan
At the moment, the only two people who know about all of Charity's secrets are Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). Serena has been trying her best to support new friend Charity, while Mackenzie has struggled to process everything. During baby Leyla's christening, the family gathered at the pub afterward. While Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) enjoyed the celebration, blissfully unaware of the truth about Leyla, Charity became increasingly overwhelmed.
She proceeded to ignore Ryan, who has been wondering why his mum's behaviour towards him has suddenly changed. He went in search of answers from Charity, curious to know why she is treating him so badly. When Ryan asked Charity what exactly he's done, she sighed and said: 'You were born.' Charity rushed off in a panic, while Ryan was left standing alone, utterly devastated.
Background of Trauma
Ryan's biological father is a man called DI Bails, who abused Charity when she was a child. She became pregnant with Ryan when she was 14, but believed he died at birth. Ryan was adopted by a woman named Irene and made contact with Charity in 2018. The ordeal Doctor Todd has put Charity through has reminded her of what happened when she was younger.

Even though fans of the ITV soap can understand why Charity is struggling to be around Ryan at the moment, they are not happy with the way she is speaking to him.
