Emmerdale fans believe they have uncovered Dr Liam Cavanagh's secret in a shock brother twist, with some suggesting he could be a Dingle. Liam, played by Jonny McPherson, has been acting suspiciously in recent episodes, leading viewers to speculate about his hidden past.
Liam's suspicious behaviour
Liam has been distracted by his phone, which partner Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) noticed. He was then seen messaging a mystery person, telling them he would be with them soon but needed "to get away without anyone knowing." Chas also saw Liam leave romance with Manpreet Sharma's (Rebecca Sarker) car and confronted him, accusing them of having an affair, which he denied.
In Wednesday's episode (October 27), fans were left even more suspicious. Chas surprised Liam with their wedding date: January next year. They then headed to the Woolpack to celebrate with fellow residents. However, Liam started acting sheepish when talking to a man named David about where he grew up in Kingston down south. David said that area was his neck of the woods but he didn't know any Cavanaghs.
Fans' Dingle theory
Now, fans are certain they know Liam's secret, and it involves a Dingle legend. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: "Wonder what Liam is hiding from his past?" Another suggested Liam could be the secret brother of Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), writing: "He could be a Dingle. Cain's brother."
A third agreed and said: "I would love that." Another viewer chimed in: "Yeah he's definitely hiding something, that's a good theory."
Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
