Emmerdale fans believe Kim Tate's exit could be sealed after a dramatic week saw her stab DS Thea Ramsden, with some predicting Thea will eventually reveal the truth and have Kim arrested. Kim, played by Claire King, first appeared on the ITV soap in 1989 and has been involved in numerous storylines, including feuds, romances and faking her own death.
In September, it was revealed that Kim had a secret daughter: new village police officer DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge), who debuted earlier this year. Kim was unaware that her long-lost daughter had tracked her down and was seeking revenge after being abandoned years ago.
Dramatic Turn in Hospital
This week, convinced Thea was behind baby Tate's kidnapping, Kim accidentally stabbed the police officer. In Thursday's episode (October 29), Kim rushed Thea to hospital, where she discovered that Thea is her daughter, leaving her stunned. Kim opened up to Thea about the adoption, and Thea appeared to soften, later telling police she was not ready to discuss the stabbing rather than revealing Kim's involvement.
However, fans suspect Thea has an ulterior motive and is planning to see Kim sent down in a shock exit twist. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person said: "I still don't trust Thea, she will use this to her advantage, I'm sure of it." Another added: "I think she'll eventually tell the truth and Kim will get arrested and sent to prison." A third wrote: "Oh no, is this the end of Kim Tate then?!" with another responding: "Think so…"
Actress on Secret Child Twist
Speaking about the secret child twist, Claire King told Digital Spy: "The audience actually gets to know about it before Kim does. It'll be quite a good surprise for them to see Kim's reaction as well." On whether Kim ever expected to meet her daughter, Claire explained: "I think to a certain extent, she always says, 'I've never forgotten you', but I think she really wanted to just wipe it out of her brain. Because she thought she was giving her daughter to a good home and that she was happy."
