Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd's marriage is on the brink of collapse on Emmerdale, following a devastating row over the surrogacy of Sarah Sugden's baby. Mack had initially opposed Charity acting as a surrogate, but reluctantly agreed after emotional pressure, secretly believing the chances of success were low.
After the first embryo transfer ended in tragedy when Charity slipped and fell, destroying the embryo, Mack admitted he was secretly relieved, prompting Charity to kick him out. He later consented to a second attempt, which resulted in Charity becoming pregnant, leaving Mack facing his worst fear of losing his wife.
