Emmerdale chaos as Ruby is accused of night with Ross

Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) faces a fresh setback in Emmerdale next week as her plan to destroy Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly) appears close to derailing.

With her desperation growing, Sadie takes a different approach involving Ross Barton (Michael Parr). She spends her time trying to convince Caleb that Ruby has a drink problem while also telling Ruby that Caleb has an issue with her independence.

Sadie switches the drinks

When it becomes clear that Ruby is going to stay off alcohol, Sadie decides to switch Ruby's drink for hers when nobody is looking. After Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) comments on Sadie's lack of a love life, Sadie decides to show off her flirting skills and eyes up Ross.

Sadie charms Ross and convinces him to dance with her, then encourages Ruby to take her place. Just as Caleb arrives, he is horrified to watch Ruby collapse on top of Ross. Furious, he storms off while Sadie struggles to hide her glee.

Ruby's memory returns

As Ruby realises she is drunk, Caleb questions Sadie about Ruby and Ross' flirtation. Sensing victory, Sadie tells Caleb that Ruby left the pub with Ross. With the image in his head that Ruby prefers Ross' company, Caleb decides to sleep with Sadie.

The next day, Caleb prepares to confront Ruby, but it becomes clear she did not sleep with Ross. As her memory returns, Ruby realises Sadie led Caleb to believe she spent the night with Ross. Cornered, Sadie insists she acted out of concern, but Ruby is unconvinced. Later, alone with Sadie, Caleb demands she moves out.

What happens next

Caleb's brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) previously warned him that Sadie would destroy his life, and she is doing a good job so far. Holding power after her night with Caleb, the question remains what Sadie will do next – whether she will really move out or demand to stay in return for keeping quiet about the one-night stand.
