Ellis season two is now airing on Channel 5, with the drama returning on Tuesday, 10 March. The series follows DCI Ellis and DS Harper as they solve crimes across northern England. Sharon D Clarke reprises her role as DCI Ellis, alongside Andrew Gower as DS Harper, with Charlotte McCurry and Allison Harding also returning.
The new series has already featured guest appearances from Poldark's John Hollingworth and Hollyoaks actress Niamh Blackshaw in episodes one and two. Upcoming episodes three and four will see the team joined by Game of Thrones star Mark Addy, Coronation Street's Matilda Freeman, DCI Banks actor Stephen Tompkinson, and EastEnders star Sophie Stanton.
Mark Addy is best known for roles in Still Standing, Trollied, Atlantis, and Game of Thrones, while Matilda Freeman is recognised for playing Summer Spellman on Coronation Street. Stephen Tompkinson has an extensive TV career including Wild at Heart, Drop the Dead Monkey, and DCI Banks. Sophie Stanton is famous for her role as DCI Jill Marsden in EastEnders.
The synopsis for the episode 'Elmsly' reveals that university student Abi Marshall is found crushed beneath fallen scaffolding at a construction firm. Owner Elliot Quinn calls it a tragic accident, but DCI Ellis is suspicious as the camera was offline and injuries don't match the fall.
Other guest stars in episodes three and four include Judy Flynn, Caroline O'Neill, Jack Bandeira, and Sophie Stanton. The series continues to air on Channel 5.
