Ellis Season 2 Welcomes New Guest Stars in Episodes 3 and 4
The Channel 5 crime drama Ellis has made a compelling return for its second season, with episodes 3 and 4 introducing a roster of notable guest stars. The series, which follows DCI Ellis and DS Harper as they investigate cases across northern England, premiered its new season on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
Main Cast Returns with Fresh Faces
Sharon D Clarke reprises her role as DCI Ellis, bringing her acclaimed performances from projects like Mr Loverman and Rocketman. Andrew Gower returns as DS Harper, known for his work in The Winter King and Outlander. They are joined by Charlotte McCurry as DC Kate Trent and Allison Harding as ACC Alison Leighton.
The first two episodes already featured guest appearances from John Hollingworth of Poldark and Niamh Blackshaw from Hollyoaks. Now, episodes 3 and 4 expand the cast with actors from major television series.
Key Guest Stars and Their Roles
The new episodes centre on the village of Elmsly, where university student Abi Marshall is found dead under suspicious circumstances at Quinn Artisan Stone. The investigation suggests her death may not be an accident, leading DCI Ellis to question the official narrative.
Mark Addy takes on the role of Elliot Quinn, the owner of the construction firm. Addy is widely recognised for playing Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones and has appeared in series like The Full Monty and Sherwood.
Matilda Freeman portrays Mackenzie Quinn. Freeman is best known for her role as Summer Spellman on Coronation Street from 2017 to 2020 and has recently starred in Netflix's How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.
Stephen Tompkinson plays DCI Chalmers, bringing his extensive television experience from shows such as DCI Banks and Wild at Heart. His recent work includes This Is Not a Murder Mystery and The Long Shadow.
Sophie Stanton appears as Tina Marshall, known for her role as DCI Jill Marsden in EastEnders. She has also featured in My Mad Fat Diary and The Killing Kind.
