EastEnders fans will see the return of Vicki Fowler after more than 20 years, as she arrives in Albert Square for her uncle Martin's funeral. The character, played by Alice Haig, will be accompanied by her new boyfriend Ross and his son Joel, much to the surprise of her sister Sharon and Alfie Moon.
Vicki, the daughter of Michelle Fowler and Dirty Den Watts, left Walford in 2004 to live in Australia with Spencer Moon, where they ran a bar. Her return with a new partner signals a significant change in her life, and the couple are keen to integrate with her family in E20.
Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw expressed delight at the casting of Alice Haig, Alex Walkinshaw, and Max Murray, noting that Vicki has changed considerably since her last appearance. He teased that the new branch of the Fowler family will soon make waves in Walford.
Alice Haig, who was born in the same year EastEnders began, said she is excited to play Vicki, who has evolved in unexpected ways. Alex Walkinshaw described his character Ross as a decent, hardworking family man, while Max Murray expressed pride in introducing Joel to viewers.
