EastEnders spoilers: Amy rescue, Ian and Elaine kiss

The coming week on EastEnders brings a tense rescue mission, a family in crisis, and a new romance. Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) continue their shaky alliance to rescue Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) from Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey). As Craig begins to physically abuse Amy, a discovery by Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) may bring her home.

Rescue mission intensifies

On Monday, November 2, tensions run high between Sean and Jack after their night searching for Amy. After updating the family, they clash with Max Branning (Jake Wood) over his involvement in securing Amy's inheritance. Later, Lily provides them with Charli's tablet, on which Amy opened a new bank account. Amy is on edge around Craig as they hide in a bedsit, and after he realises the bank account is frozen, he hits her.

Meanwhile, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) has another vicious clash with Max in the Vic when he arrives with Linda. Gemma Hawkins (Patricia Potter) tries to widen her social circle, and Ned's (Jamie Bamber) advice leads Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) to host a bonfire night.

On Tuesday, November 3, after Linda challenges Lee to go a week without drinking, she agrees to go with a stressed Nancy to her antenatal class. Lee arrives later, drunk, and makes a huge scene. Worried about Amy's whereabouts, Sean comes up with the idea for Denise Fox (Diane Parish) to record a plea video to try and lure her back home. Elsewhere, Ned finds Ryder (Felix Uff) a job with Ian, and Gemma continues to try to make new friends.

Fireworks and romance

Wednesday, November 4 sees Ian's bonfire night look like a flop when it transpires that Ryder's fireworks are out of date, leading him to attempt to borrow some from Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe). Elaine thinks Ian is asking her out and turns him down, leading Ryder and Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) to steal her fireworks. As Elaine and Ian end up in a nasty clash, anger gives way to passion and they end up kissing.

Also, Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) suggests Gemma start a book club, and Max is wrongfooted when he tries to diffuse a Carter argument and Linda tells him to stay out of family business.

Carter family troubles continue

On Thursday, November 5, Max's attempts to speak to Nancy about the family feud fall apart when Nancy tells him to mind his own business. He turns to Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and reaffirms that he'll win a place in the family, while the Carters finally manage to call a truce. Concurrently, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) makes an effort to rally the women of Walford to attend Gemma's book club.
