Danny Walters has spoken out after his character Keanu Taylor was killed off in EastEnders' Christmas Day special. The 30-year-old actor revealed the difficulty of keeping the storyline secret, admitting he had been 'very deceitful' to friends and family.
Keanu was stabbed in the back by Linda Carter during a confrontation at the Queen Vic, as he attempted to strangle Sharon Watts. The murder was the climax of The Six storyline, which had kept viewers guessing about the victim and killer.
Walters described the Christmas episode as a 'rollercoaster of emotions' and praised the writing. He noted that while his character's arc has ended, he has made friends for life on the soap since joining in 2017.
The actor confessed that most of his family learned of Keanu's fate alongside the public, as he had been evasive about the plot. He joked he expects tearful calls from his grandmothers. Walters also admitted he took his character's greasy mechanics overalls from the set as a memento.
