EastEnders viewers are convinced that missing character Shireen is still alive and will soon arrive in Walford, following a dramatic confession from Nicola Mitchell. In Monday's episode, Nicola admitted to ordering the murder of Shireen four years ago, but fans suspect a twist is on the horizon.
Nicola confessed to a man named Benji that she had him kill Shireen, who was dating her stepson Harry Mitchell at the time of her disappearance. Benji revealed he hid the body at a disused industrial estate, but viewers believe he may not have carried out the killing.
Taking to social media, fans speculated that Shireen is alive and in hiding, and will eventually expose Nicola's crime. One viewer wrote: "Harry's missing girlfriend is obviously going to show up soon." Another added: "Probably with a Mini Harry in tow."
The twist comes as Nicola tries to frame Teddy Mitchell for Shireen's death, telling Sharon Watts and Zack Hudson that Teddy was responsible. Meanwhile, Shireen's brother Asad confronted Teddy, accusing him of the murder, unaware that Nicola is the real culprit.
