EastEnders Christmas Murder: Fan Theories Abound on Who Dies and Who Kills

EastEnders fans are buzzing with theories ahead of the Christmas Day reveal of who dies and which of The Six is the killer. The storyline, teased in a flash-forward in February 2023, shows a dead male figure in The Queen Vic surrounded by Denise Fox, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater and Suki Panesar. The only clue so far is a set of amber cufflinks that have been passed between male characters throughout the year.

One popular theory suggests Denise is the murderer and the body is her husband Jack Branning. Fans point to Jack’s growing closeness with Stacey, which could lead to an affair. If Denise finds out, she might kill Jack in a jealous rage. The theory notes that Jack gave the amber cufflinks to Phil Mitchell, who has yet to return them, leaving time for Phil to have them by Christmas. In the flash-forward, Stacey has blood on her hands while Denise holds a broken bottle, supporting this idea.

Another theory proposes two deaths on Christmas Day. One victim could be Dean Wicks, who returns to the Square after raping Linda, giving Linda motive to kill. Alternatively, Sharon might kill Dean to protect her friend. The second victim could be Nish Panesar, after he discovers wife Suki’s affair with Eve Unwin. In a fight, Suki might hit Nish, who then stumbles to the Vic, where Denise smashes a bottle over his head. The women then discover both bodies.

A Reddit theory suggests the victim is a “good guy” like Jay, Callum or Ben. In a scuffle that kills a villain, a good male character might be accidentally hit and die. The theory argues the victim must be a big character, and the obvious bad guys are too predictable.

The special episode EastEnders: The Six – Revealed, hosted by Joe Swash, explores the lives of the six women and their potential motives. The cast share their thoughts, but the final answer will come on Christmas Day.
