Production on the second season of Alien: Earth is scheduled to commence in May, according to star Sydney Chandler. The actor, who plays Wendy/Marcy in the series, revealed the update in an interview with Deadline, though she has not yet seen any scripts for the upcoming episodes.
The first season of the show, which brought the iconic sci-fi horror franchise to television, concluded with the children characters taking over the Prodigy Corporation's island facility and imprisoning the founder, Boy Kavalier. The Xenomorph remains a central threat, with the Weyland-Yutani Corporation still seeking to reclaim it.
Unlike the first season, which was shot in Thailand, season 2 will be filmed at Pinewood Studios in London. This change of location has sparked speculation that the series may move away from Kavalier's island setting, though no plot details have been confirmed.
Alien: Earth received critical acclaim for its first season, earning a five-star review from Digital Spy, which praised its 'spine-tingling horror' and 'gruesomeness' that surpasses previous entries in the franchise. The show also holds a 94% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season 1 is currently available to stream on Disney+. No release window for season 2 has been announced.
