Dick and Angel Strawbridge to Return to Channel 4 with New Series

Dick and Angel Strawbridge are set to make a return to Channel 4 with a new series, despite the broadcaster previously cutting ties with the couple following allegations of bullying. The pair, known for their long-running show Escape to the Chateau, will feature in Dick and Angel's Secret France, which explores lesser-known parts of France.

The new series was filmed before a leaked audio recording emerged last year, in which Angel allegedly used offensive language towards a producer. Channel 4 and production company Two Rivers Media conducted an independent review and decided not to work with the Strawbridges on any future productions. However, the broadcaster has chosen to air the pre-filmed series, scheduled for Sunday, 2 June at 8pm.

A spokesperson for the couple confirmed their delight at the broadcast, noting that they have been working with Channel 4's press team. The insider added that it would not make commercial sense for the channel to scale back promotion of the series. The couple announced the show on social media, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from fans.

Following the end of Escape to the Chateau in late 2022, the Strawbridges have pursued other projects, including a YouTube channel, a book, and a UK tour. They have maintained that there are 'two sides to every story' regarding the allegations and have chosen not to comment further on the matter.
