Delta Goodrem has said her return to training for Strictly Come Dancing's next live show has been a 'gentle' one as she shared an update with fans ahead of her next performance.
The Australian singer, who is competing on the show with professional dancer Kai Widdrington, was forced to miss week four of the BBC One dance competition last weekend after suffering an injury and being advised to rest.
It meant that the pair missed the latest live show on Saturday (October 17) night, which was another themed week with the return of the new annual Icons Week special. The show saw the celebrities and their professional dancer partners tasked with channelling a famous singer, with this year's choices including Adele, RAYE, Elton John and Frank Sinatra.
Confirmed return to the ballroom
As per the rules of the show, it was confirmed that Delta would be given a bye through to week five of Strictly's 2026 series, which takes place this Saturday (October 24), and that she'd return to perform if well enough to do so.
On Monday (October 19), it was confirmed that Delta will be back on the dance floor alongside Kai this weekend. A statement on Strictly's social media channels read: "Following her bye last week due to injury, we’re delighted to confirm Delta has been given the all clear to dance again this weekend."
The update continued: "She’ll return to the #Strictly ballroom on Saturday night, and Abi Clarke will pop into her rehearsal room for a chat on Training Room Diaries on Wednesday evening."
Training room update
She's now shared a look at how she's getting on by sharing a video to Instagram of her and Kai doing a little groove to the viral Jamie Miller track, Babydoll. Captioning the post, Delta wrote: "Team is back. Missed this so much! Gentle moves still but just the best feeling to be back in the room @kaiwidd #stepbystep." She also wrote on her Instagram Story: "Missed this so much! Gentle moves still but just the best feeling to be back in the room."
Fans were quick to respond. @tammygamble said: "They’re back!! That’s our girl." @olakosiorek commented: "Like a true warrior. Let's go team DeltaKai." @dajanasvoice wrote: "So good to see you back! Kai's own update
It comes after Kai was heard offering his own update. Speaking to reporters on the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards at the start of the week, he said of Delta: "She’s good, she’s good. Baby steps, but she’s a pro, her attitude is so good."
