Death in Paradise returns for its 15th season on Friday 30 January at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer, introducing a new team member and exploring DI Mervin Wilson's ongoing adjustment to life in Saint Marie.
New recruit Sergeant Mattie Fletcher, played by Catherine Garton, joins the police team. Described as having a rebellious streak, she is younger than DI Wilson but more experienced than Officer Sebastian Rose. Her past begins to reveal shadows as she settles in, with Detective Sergeant Naomi Thomas and Officer Rose helping her integrate.
DI Mervin Wilson, played by Don Gilet, continues to grapple with his newfound half-brother Solomon. Despite hoping for a close bond, the pair are vastly different, with Solomon potentially on the wrong side of the law. Wilson's emotional journey sees him unable to leave the island after discovering he has family.
Returning Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, played by Don Warrington, faces the consequences of his recent absence and works to regain the island's trust with encouragement from Catherine Bordey. Meanwhile, Wilson's wardrobe undergoes a temporary change after losing his clothes, leading to amusing moments that serve a narrative purpose.
