The BBC has released new details about the upcoming sixth episode of Death in Paradise season 15, focusing on the evolving dynamics within the Saint Marie police team. DI Mervin Wilson, played by Don Gilet, continues to grapple with life on the island while investigating a series of baffling cases.
Mervin's newfound half-brother Solomon, portrayed by Daniel Ward, proves to be far from the kindred spirit he had hoped for. The pair's relationship is described as polar opposites, with Solomon potentially operating on the wrong side of the law. This familial tension adds a personal layer to Mervin's already complex adjustment to island life.
Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, played by Don Warrington, returns to face the consequences of his absence, receiving tough love from old friend Catherine Bordey (Elizabeth Bourgine) as he seeks to regain the island's trust. Meanwhile, DS Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson) and Officer Sebastian Rose (Shaquille Ali-Yebuah) help new recruit Sergeant Mattie Fletcher (Catherine Garton) settle in, though shadows from her past threaten to surface.
Sergeant Mattie Fletcher is introduced as a rebellious yet experienced officer, contrasting with the rookie Seb Rose. The episode will also see Mervin lose his iconic wardrobe, leading to amusing moments as he is forced into unfamiliar clothing. The series continues on BBC One and iPlayer from Friday 30 January at 9pm.
