Death in Paradise has announced the return of a familiar face in its upcoming Christmas special, alongside a star-studded guest cast. The BBC series, set on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie, will also feature scenes in Swindon as part of the festive episode.
Guest stars include Josie Lawrence, Kate Ashfield, Pearl Mackie, James Baxter, Billy Harris, Oriana Charles, and Alix Serman. Don Gilet reprises his role as DI Mervin Wilson, joined by regulars Shantol Jackson, Ginny Holder, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, and Élizabeth Bourgine.
The synopsis reveals a murder mystery: four co-workers wake up to find a stranger dead in the pool of their Caribbean villa. The murder weapon is found locked in a drawer thousands of miles away in Swindon, leaving the team baffled. They call on a familiar face to help crack the case, while Mervin anxiously awaits news from his newly discovered brother.
Meanwhile, the Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise will also air a Christmas special. Guest stars include Adrian Edmondson, James Lance, and Jonny Weldon, joining regulars Kris Marshall, Sally Bretton, and others. The plot involves a man with no memory found on the steps of Shipton Abbott police station, holding a photo of DI Humphrey Goodman.
