Deadloch Season 2 with Luke Hemsworth confirmed

Fans of critically acclaimed television, rejoice. The Australian dark comedy sensation Deadloch, which earned a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, is officially making its comeback for a highly anticipated second season.

Prime Video has confirmed the return of what many called a hidden gem, setting a premiere date for the new six-part series. The show will enter what is being described as its tropical gothic era.

A New Case in the Top End

The new season will see the return of the beloved detective duo, Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami). This time, they are setting up shop in the sweltering Northern Territory, often referred to as the Top End.

Their investigation begins with the death of Eddie's former policing partner, Bushy. However, the case takes a dramatic turn when the body of a local icon is discovered in a remote town. This thrusts the detectives into a new, more dangerous investigation that promises to be sweatier, stickier, and filled with more crocodiles than their last adventure.

The Hemsworth Brother Joins the Cast

Adding significant star power to the ensemble is Australian actor Luke Hemsworth. The older brother of Chris and Liam Hemsworth will be portraying Justin Wade, a wildlife park owner and the star of the fictional show Jason Wade's Adventures Down Under.

Luke Hemsworth is best known for his role as Ashley Stubbs in the HBO drama Westworld and as Nathan Tyson in Neighbours. He will be joining returning cast members Nina Oyama and Alicia Gardiner.

The series has also bolstered its roster with other new faces, including:

  • Steve Bisley (The Great Gatsby)
  • Byron Coll (Time Bandits)
  • Damien Garvey (The Survivors)
  • Bev Killick (Savage River)

Following a Flawless First Season

The second series has a formidable reputation to uphold. The first season of Deadloch achieved a rare and flawless 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, cementing its status as a critical darling.

Audience reviews echoed this praise, with one viewer calling it a hidden gem and a surprisingly funny, endearing detective show. Another fan declared it one of the best dark comedies I have watched in a long time, while others described it as hilarious and gripping.

Deadloch season 2 will be available for streaming exclusively on Prime Video from Friday, March 20, 2026.
