Danny Dyer Full Frontal Nude Scene in Rivals Season 2

Danny Dyer has revealed he has a 'full frontal' nude scene in season two of Rivals as he opens up about his character Freddie's blossoming romance with Lizzie. The beloved 80s-set series returns this week, and Dyer, 48, has teased that fans might see more of him than expected.

Dyer on Full Frontal Scene

In an interview with Radio Times, Dyer was asked if he worried about doing sex scenes. He replied: 'I just go with it, baby. I've been around a long time and it's part of the job. It always feels a bit weird but you've got to laugh about it.' He added: 'I go full frontal in this series, if they keep it in the edit.' The actor revealed the scene took place at night, but couldn't give more hints: 'It's a night shoot, and it was cold, and I'd better not say any more.'

Dyer emphasized that no one pressured him to strip off, but he felt he should: 'Nobody's under any pressure to be naked if they don't want to, but if a woman's getting her breasts out, why shouldn't I get it all out? I've got breasts as well, to be fair.' He also mentioned giving his daughter time codes for the nude scenes so she can skip any embarrassing moments.

Weight Gain and Character Development

The former EastEnders actor revealed he put on a stone while playing Freddie in season two. On his podcast Live and Let Dyers, he said: 'I was missing everyone, I was quite lonely on that one, Rivals, but Rivals is done for now. While I was playing Fred, I have put on a stone. My diet was awful, living on Deliveroo and buying a 12-pack of sausages, cooking them all and making a couple of sandwiches. That's awful for my cholesterol. I am not advising any man my age to eat 12 sausages and then I got constipated.'

The first season saw Freddie's relationship with his wife Valerie Jones (Lisa McGrillis) crumble as he struck up a romance with Lizzie Vereker (Katherine Parkinson), an author neglected by her local celebrity husband. The wholesome friendship blossomed into a passionate fling by season's end.

Season Two Plot Hints

Trailers for season two suggest things get difficult for Lizzie, with a scene where she says she feels guilty for cheating and needs to stay away from Freddie because it's 'hurting my heart.' Katherine Parkinson, 48, told The Mirror: 'Well, they don't stay away from each other for very long! It's not just her own situation, her own marriage and her much younger children, but Freddie's got these children at that tricky teenage age. I think it hits her, what am I doing getting carried away? A woman in her late forties sort of being giddy.' She added: 'She sort of pulls herself up. But then, you know, Freddie says things…'

Rivals returns on May 15 on Disney+.
