Dani Dyer Withdraws from Strictly 2025 After Ankle Fracture

Dani Dyer has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing after fracturing her ankle during rehearsals. The TV personality and broadcaster suffered a fall on Friday, and an MRI scan confirmed the injury, ruling her out of the competition.

In a statement, Dyer said: 'I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle. Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so I’ve had to pull out of the show.'

Dyer added that she was 'heartbroken' and would miss dancing with her partner Nikita, but would be cheering on the remaining couples. Executive Producer Sarah James expressed the show's sadness, sending love and best wishes for a swift recovery, and hoping to welcome Dyer back to the ballroom in the future.

Dyer's departure follows two other withdrawals from the 2025 line-up. La Voix, a performer from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, withdrew due to injury during Blackpool Week, and actor Stefan Dennis had to leave after Week 4 due to injury. Kristian Nairn also withdrew for medical reasons before the series began.

The remaining confirmed celebrities include Olympian Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, actor Alex Kingston, former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal, YouTuber George Clarke, former rugby captain Chris Robshaw, model Ellie, TV personality Thomas Skinner, presenter Vicky Pattison, actor Stefan Dennis, presenter Ross King, former footballer Karen Carney, and Welsh actor Amber.
