Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has said he would love to see Queen Camilla on the show, claiming she has “fantastic rhythm” and would “nail it”. Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Revel Horwood recalled dancing with Camilla at a charity event for the Royal Osteoporosis Society, praising her dancing ability and enthusiasm.
“She was fantastic. We danced for the Royal Osteoporosis Society, she raised awareness and money for that charity, which was great. She loves dancing. She actually loves the show and I would love to see her on there because she would nail it, darling,” he said.
As Strictly returns for its 23rd series on Saturday, Revel Horwood admitted he still gets nervous before live shows. “When I hear the music it does give me butterflies. It always does because we’re live. I love it,” he told the programme.
Discussing this year’s celebrity contestants, he singled out Dani Dyer-Bowen and Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston as ones to watch. “I think Dani Dyer – I think she is fantastic. I’m loving Alex – her humour is beyond, darling,” he said, but added that the public vote makes the outcome unpredictable.
When asked if he fears being “cancelled” for his brutally honest critiques, Revel Horwood was dismissive. “I don’t actually care. I’m up there to tell the truth and be honest about the one minute 30 that I see. If people don’t like that, then lump it. Am I worried about being cancelled? Not really. I think it’s stupid, absolutely stupid,” he said.
