Coronation Street's Jenny Bradley could be heading for a new romance with Stephen Reid after her partner Leo Thompkins abruptly leaves the cobbles, actress Sally Ann Matthews has teased.
Leo's sudden departure leaves Jenny convinced he has gone to Canada without her after discovering she kissed Stephen. Matthews explained: 'He's made his decision. He's gone. He obviously didn't forgive you for snogging Stephen, so get over it.'
The actress said Jenny is feeling vulnerable and rejected, worrying that the age gap with Leo was too much. 'She's feeling very insecure, she feels rejected. She's feeling old. She's feeling frumpy. And just gonna get herself in more trouble,' Matthews added.
That trouble could mean throwing herself into a relationship with Stephen on the rebound. 'Stephen is certainly showing Jenny a lot of attention. And that is making her feel good,' Matthews said, comparing it to how Leo was a constant presence after Johnny's death.
Jenny may decide not to repeat her mistake of taking things slowly, with Matthews hinting: 'She might just go "I'm not going to do what I did last time. I might just dive with my size nines!" Who knows?'
