Coronation Street Fans Heartbroken as Roy Cropper Loses Hayley's Letters in Devastating Fire

Coronation Street viewers have expressed their devastation after the full extent of the fire at Roy's Rolls was revealed, with beloved character Roy Cropper losing precious mementos of his late wife, Hayley. The blaze, which broke out in Sunday's episode, was started by Mal Roper in a twisted revenge plot after fake reviews were posted about his business.

Roy had returned early from a trip with his niece Nina Lucas, unaware of Mal's actions. As he slept, Mal set the cafe alight, trapping Roy inside. He was rescued by Jodie Ramsey and Mal, who dragged him from the burning building. Roy was later hospitalised but has since been discharged.

In Monday's episode, Carla Connor broke the news to Roy that while the cafe is salvageable, little could be recovered from his flat above. She was able to save Roy and Hayley's wedding album, but Hayley's letters, which Roy had treasured, were destroyed in the fire.

Fans took to social media to share their heartbreak, with one writing: 'Roy and Hayley’s wedding album survived but Hayley’s letters are gone I am not ok.' Another added: 'A business can be rebuilt, but the fire at Roy's Rolls took years of memories and every tiny piece of Hayley he had left.'

Roy's niece Nina and friend Carla have offered him a place to stay, and the community has rallied around him. However, the loss of Hayley's letters has left fans and characters alike deeply saddened.
