Coronation Street Teases Murder Week with Wedding Chaos and Villain Exits

Coronation Street has released a dramatic new trailer for its upcoming 'murder week', which will see a shocking death occur on the wedding day of Carla Connor and Lisa Swain. The ITV soap previously revealed that a character will be found dead on April 23, during a flashforward episode aired in February.

In the flashforward, Betsy Swain was seen telling detectives she discovered a dead body while heading into town after the wedding. Five characters have been identified as potential victims: Megan Walsh, Theo Silverton, Maggie Driscoll, Jodie Ramsey and Carl Webster, each displaying behaviour that could lead to their demise.

The new promo, directed by Suri Krishnamma, shows the five suspects dressed in funeral attire walking down the cobbles, where they are met by funeral director George Shuttleworth holding a wreath shaped like a question mark. The trailer hints at the dark events to come as the countdown to the murder begins.

Over five nights later this month, each episode will revisit the same day from the perspective of a different potential victim. At the end of the week, Betsy will find one of them dead, launching a hunt for the killer. The identity of the victim and the murderer remain unknown.
