Coronation Street fans have been left with lingering questions about Christina Boyd's movements on the night of Theo Silverton's murder, even after the killer was finally unmasked. During the Monday, June 22 episode, a flashback revealed that Sarah Platt delivered the fatal blow, sending a drunken Theo tumbling from scaffolding outside his flat. However, viewers remain puzzled over Christina's secretive behavior that evening.
Flashback Reveals Sarah as Killer
As fans of the ITV soap know, builder Theo Silverton's lifeless body was discovered by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor. The murder confirmation came after flashforward scenes aired in February, showing Betsy being interviewed by police after finding a dead body. A week after the wedding episode, it was confirmed that Theo was the victim, following his reign of mental and physical abuse over partner Todd Grimshaw.
The murder investigation initially named six suspects: Todd, Christina, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton. But the June 22 episode showed Sarah as the one who pushed Theo, leading to his fatal fall.
Christina's Mysterious Movements
In the build-up to Theo's death, Todd played a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse to outsmart his vengeful abuser. Todd managed to hide and called Christina to alert her and George. Christina then set off to find Todd, warning George to stay at the house. However, after being questioned, Christina was pulled back into the station due to discrepancies in her statement—including her claim that she forgot she stopped for petrol while rushing to find Todd.
Fans took to social media to express their confusion. @Audz32129841 tweeted: "Is Christina the only one left to explain what she was up to the night Theo died #Corrie." @Hey_Judexx pointed out: "She said she was getting petrol. As you do when you’re rushing to save someone who was in danger."
