Coronation Street fans believe Jodie Ramsey will become entangled in Sarah Platt's murder plot as Sarah tries to conceal her secret. Viewers of the ITV soap were shocked to learn that Sarah killed Theo Silverton. The builder's body was discovered by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor.
Flashback Reveals Sarah as Killer
Flashforward scenes in February showed Sarah being interviewed by police, with Theo among five possible victims, including Jodie, Carl Webster, Megan Walsh, and Maggie Driscoll. A week after the wedding aired, Theo was confirmed dead after tormenting Todd Grimshaw one last time. His death triggered a murder investigation, with Todd, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton as suspects.
During Monday's (June 22) episode, viewers saw the truth. A flashback showed Sarah receiving a suspicious text from Todd's phone. She went to the flat he shared with Theo, where a drunk Theo confronted her on scaffolding. He taunted Sarah, mentioning the son she and Todd lost 21 years ago. As the confrontation escalated, Theo threatened violence. Sarah grabbed a metal pipe and struck Theo on the head, causing him to fall to his death. She then called Gary for help.
Gary Helps Sarah Cover Up
Gary was furious but assisted Sarah, telling her to clean up and establish an alibi. As viewers knew, Sarah was unexpectedly knocked unconscious by Jodie, which provided an alibi.
Spoilers for next week show DS Lisa Connor-Swain asking Sarah to review her statement. Jodie notices Sarah isn't telling the truth because Jodie was involved in the assault on Sarah that night.
Fans Theorise a Deal
Fans have taken to social media with theories. @messasaurusjess posted: "Theory: Sarah finds out that it was Jodie that hit her in the head the night of Theo's murder, and so in exchange for not reporting Jodie, Jodie provided Sarah with an alibi #corrie."
@ThomasR14336083 commented: "If Sarah discovers it was Jodie who attacked her then she can use that to her advantage by exposing Jodie & pining Theo's death on her as well as planting evidence to ensure a conviction. Thence we get rid of Jodie & keep Sarah on the Street. Which I quite like to happen. #Corrie."
@LadyReignFC added: "As I said months ago, Sarah can make a deal with Jodie. Jodie gives Sarah an alibi & Sarah doesn't turn Jodie in for hitting her. Jodie can say she was scared of those thugs & ran. Sarah can say she was unconscious on the floor at the time of death & Jodie can corroborate #corrie."
