Corrie fans fear Sally Metcalfe prison exit after Lucy clash

Coronation Street fans are convinced that Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) could be heading to prison following a dramatic clash with Tim's niece Lucy Parkinson (Anya Lewis). The theory comes 40 years after Sally first appeared on the ITV soap in 1986.

Sally's dramatic weeks on the cobbles

Sally and Tim (Joe Duttine) took in troubled Lucy after her father Richie (Nathan Sussex) was sent to prison earlier this year for murdering her mother. However, it was later hinted that Lucy was the real killer and her dad was taking the blame.

In Tuesday's episode (October 27), Sally and Lucy clashed while alone at No. 4. Sally was on edge fearing Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) had escaped from prison. A power cut happened and Sally was startled to come face to face with someone dressed as a ghost. In a state of panic, Sally hit the person with a vase of flowers.

When Tim arrived home, he was confused to see Lucy covered in blood as she was the one in the ghost costume who Sally hit.

Social worker reveals Lucy's journal

Spoilers for later this week reveal that Sally and Tim are surprised when a social worker arrives. She tells them that Lucy called her. Throwing a victorious look at Sally, Lucy heads out. Ruth then reveals to a horrified Sally and Tim that Lucy has been keeping a journal, in which she accuses Sally of being very controlling and saying nasty things behind her back.

Fans fear an exit could be on the cards

Now, fans fear an exit could be on the cards for Sally after the incident with Lucy. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: "Wouldn't surprise me if Sally goes to prison for hitting Lucy."

Someone else chimed in: "Another one behind bars then!" referring to characters like Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and Gary Windass (Mikey Northern) recently being sent to prison.

A third heartbroken fan also penned: "I really hope not!" Another fan then wrote: "I think the same, she's going to get in trouble for sure."

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
