Coronation Street and Emmerdale Schedule Changes This Week Due to World Cup
Corrie and Emmerdale Schedule Changes This Week

If you have been enjoying your regular visits to Coronation Street and Emmerdale this week, there is bad news in store, with the ITV soaps set to undergo further schedule changes. As is always the case, the nation's biggest soaps are moved around the television schedule to accommodate football, and with the World Cup well underway, fans can expect more disruption.

World Cup Causes Schedule Shifts

The football tournament officially kicked off on June 11, and coverage will air on ITV until July 19, meaning changes galore. It comes just months after both soaps adopted a brand new scheduling pattern on ITV, with the staples of evening broadcast now only airing half-hour instalments nightly, as opposed to three hour-long episodes for Coronation Street and a weekly hour-long visit to Emmerdale. The new scheduling pattern will now face serious disruption, but if you are confused about when you can get your next dose of the cobbles drama or your subsequent visit to the Dales, fear not, as we have you covered.

When Is Coronation Street Next On?

This week, we have been treated to not one but two hour-long editions of Coronation Street. However, there is going to be a little bit of a break in terms of our next visit to Weatherfield, due to the England versus Croatia match on Wednesday and Switzerland versus Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday. Here is what the rest of the week looks like with regards to your next dose of cobbles drama.

  • Wednesday, June 17: No new episode
  • Thursday, June 18: No new episode
  • Friday, June 19: 8:30pm (half an hour)

If you cannot wait until the evening for your Coronation Street fix, you can stream the episodes from 7am on the respective days on ITVX or YouTube.

Things are set to be tense this week as Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) has been on a mission to get to the bottom of why Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) have been acting so shifty, and she comes to believe they are having an affair.

When Is Emmerdale Next On?

Much like Coronation Street, two hour-long Emmerdales have kept audiences entertained this week, but there will now be a bit of a break before the next visit to the village. Here is when you can tune in to all the Dales drama.

  • Wednesday, June 17: No new episode
  • Thursday, June 18: No new episode
  • Friday, June 19: 8pm (half an hour)

Episodes can be streamed from 7am on YouTube and ITVX on the days they are due to air.

It has been an emotional week in the village thus far, with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) – who underwent surgery earlier this year – told that he might still have cancer, while Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) struggles in the wake of her sexual assault by Dr Todd (Caroline Harker).

Emmerdale and Coronation Street air weeknights on ITV1 or stream first on ITVX and YouTube.
