Corrie and Emmerdale off air again, fans fed up

Coronation Street and Emmerdale fans say they are "fed up" after both ITV soaps were taken off air again tonight, with no confirmed replacement episodes scheduled.

It is the second scheduling disruption in a week, following Thursday's (October 22) episodes being moved to Sunday to make way for the Pride of Britain Awards. There are currently no make-up episodes for tonight's missing instalments, meaning viewers will have to wait until Thursday (October 29) to continue watching.

Carabao Cup coverage replaces soaps

ITV1 will broadcast the Carabao Cup Live instead, with coverage of a Liverpool v Chelsea game starting at 7.30pm, ahead of kick-off half an hour later.

When the soaps return, the drama continues in the Dales as Graham Foster is left stunned by the revelation that Joe Tate was responsible for kidnapping Baby Tate. At Hotten General Hospital, Kim Tate fears the fallout from her actions when a doctor insists the police must be called following the stabbing of DS Thea Ramsden.

Halloween storyline continues on the cobbles

On Coronation Street, Sally and Tim Metcalfe face an unwelcome visit from social worker Ruth, who has been alerted to the Halloween attack on Lucy Parkinson. Ruth reveals that Lucy has been keeping a journal containing accusations that Sally is controlling and has said cruel things to her.

Elsewhere, Summer Spellman visits her new love, Marco Rhodes, in prison and reassures him she is standing by him, while Carla Connor-Swain finds herself at odds with Idris Nazir.

Some viewers took to Facebook to express their disappointment. One wrote: "Again? Really? Why does this happen?" while another responded: "So fed up of no soap days!! Need my Connor-Swain fix".

Emmerdale will return to ITV1 at 8pm on Thursday, with Coronation Street available 30 minutes later. Both episodes will also be available to stream on ITVX and YouTube from 7am.
