Coronation Street's harrowing grooming storyline is reaching its climax as paedophile teacher Megan Walsh faces justice. Megan, played by Beth Nixon, has sexually abused schoolboy Will Driscoll and psychologically tortured Sam Blakeman, leading to his psychiatric breakdown. Despite exposure, she manipulated Will into denying everything to police and plotted to flee the country.
Unlikely hero Tim Metcalfe shared his own abuse experience to open Will's eyes, prompting Will to bravely report Megan. However, Megan continues to manipulate him, trying to convince him to retract his allegations. Megan's mother Janine, played by Melissa Jacques, is set to arrive on the cobbles, sparking tensions with Will's stepmum Eva Price and her family.
Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva, said Janine's arrival will cause conflict, with some blaming Janine for Megan's behaviour while others see her as bewildered. Corrie boss Kate Brooks has teased that Megan will face retribution, though the exact outcome remains uncertain. Beth Nixon expressed fascination with playing the complex, horrible character, noting that the story avoids justifying Megan's actions.
