Coronation Street's Beth Tinker, played by Lisa George, is set to leave the soap in a dramatic exit storyline. The character, known for her nosy attitude and outspoken behaviour, first appeared on the cobbles in 2011 and quickly became a fan favourite.
Beth has been involved in several major storylines, including the tragic death of her niece Sinead Tinker and her relationship with Kirk Sutherland. However, reports late last year indicated that Lisa George would be leaving the show, with her exit expected this summer.
Despite claiming she had signed a new contract, The Sun confirmed in June that Lisa had finished filming and hosted a farewell party with her Coronation Street colleagues. Fans have now speculated that Beth's exit will involve her being caught making illegal goods at the factory, leading to a prison sentence.
In recent episodes, Beth was furious with boss Carla Connor for allowing work experience student Betsy Swain to do as she pleased. Betsy later caught Beth producing dodgy gear at the factory, prompting viewers to predict that this will lead to Beth's departure in handcuffs.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
