Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell, best known for playing Kevin Webster, has married his long-term partner Louise Gibbons. The 61-year-old tied the knot with his fiancée of nine years at Sale Town Hall in Manchester on Saturday.

The groom wore a beige suit and brown tie, while Louise looked elegant in a white strapless dress. The couple were showered with confetti as they left the venue, sharing a kiss to seal their special day.

Michael and Louise began dating in 2014 after meeting through Louise's brother, who is Michael's local bookmaker. They announced their engagement in 2017 but have kept their relationship largely private. An insider previously revealed they planned a low-key ceremony.

Several of Michael's Coronation Street co-stars attended the reception, including Tony Maudsley, Jane Danson, Sally Dynevor, and Alan Halsall. The wedding is Michael's second; he was previously married to actress Janette Beverley for 25 years, with whom he has two children.

Michael, who joined the ITV soap in 1983, is the second longest-serving current cast member. He recently told the Mirror that he never takes his role for granted, saying: 'You can never take the job for granted. My contract was due in January and I've just been offered a new one, so I can breathe a sigh of relief for another year.'
