Former Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson has announced her engagement to partner Lewis Devine after eight years together. The 42-year-old, best known for playing Katy Harris on the ITV soap from 2002 to 2005, shared the news on Instagram, saying she is 'on cloud nine'.
Hudson revealed that Devine proposed during a trip to the Lake District, where the couple first created memories. 'He took me back to the Lakes, where some of our first memories began,' she wrote. 'We spent the day reminiscing, just us, walking through the most beautiful quiet gardens with no one else around.'
The actress, who also appeared in Hollyoaks and Casualty, admitted the proposal was a complete surprise. 'No big audience, no big show, just us, and a quiet, perfect moment that meant everything,' she said. Hudson posted photos of the couple and a mirror selfie showing off her diamond ring.
Hudson was previously married to Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs, from 2009 until their split in 2018. They have a daughter together. She began dating Devine shortly after the separation; the two met while starring in a stage production of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs in 2017.
