Coronation Street's Sarah Platt has been unveiled as Theo Silverton's killer, and she quickly confesses the truth to Todd Grimshaw in an emotional breakdown. The revelation came after months of speculation following Theo's death in April.
Sarah's Unexpected Confession
In an exclusive clip aired on This Morning, Sarah breaks down and admits to Todd that she killed Theo. Todd had been pressing her, convinced she was hiding something about the murder. He even forces her to swear on the life of their late child, Billy. Overwhelmed, Sarah confesses, leaving Todd utterly stunned.
The Flashback Reveals the Killing
The killer's identity was exposed this week in a flashback sequence. Sarah struck Theo with a metal pole atop scaffolding, causing him to fall over the edge and crash to the ground. Gary Windass received a distressed call from Sarah after she discovered Theo was dead and helped her conceal the crime. They have been hiding the secret for weeks.
Sarah's Guilt and Fear
Since the revelation, Sarah has been grappling with remorse, terrified of imprisonment if the truth emerges. Actor Tina O'Brien said: "Yeah, absolutely she could be going to prison this time. If she'd have called the police straight away and explained what happened, she would have been in a much better situation, because it was clearly not premeditated, it was a situation where she felt she had no other choice. But to cover it up, to actively cover something up, she knows that she crossed a line that she can't come back from."
Whodunnit Storyline Concludes
Theo (James Cartwright) was killed in April after his campaign of terror against Todd (Gareth Pierce) was exposed. Suspects included Todd, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass (Mikey North), and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson). Sarah had never been among the suspects, making her reveal a surprise twist.
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
