Coronation Street spoilers for next week have revealed that Ryan Connor heads out on a date with a fellow resident in an unexpected twist amid romance speculation.
Ryan Connor's New Love Interest Confirmed
Ryan Connor's new love interest on Coronation Street has seemingly been confirmed. The character hasn't had the best luck with his love life, and it's been a while since he was in a relationship. Recently, fans speculated whether Ryan could end up with Danielle Silverton after some apparent chemistry in a scene. But new spoilers have confirmed it isn't Danielle who Ryan is on a date with next week. In fact, after he matches with a fellow Weatherfield resident on a dating app, it's none other than Jodie Ramsey who he wines and dines.
Date at the Bistro
The pair head to the Bistro next week for a dinner date. Jodie spends most of the date trying to make her brother-in-law David Platt jealous, so is she using Ryan? At the moment, it's just a date with no future revealed for them. But does this hint that Ryan and Jodie could get together, after actress Olivia Frances Brown, who plays Jodie, called for some happiness for the character?
Fan Reactions
Fans were divided over the news online, with many wanting Ryan to find love. A romance with Jodie was not what they were expecting though, amid Jodie causing trouble for multiple residents. One fan posted on social media: 'Surprise, surprise… Jodie’s been inserted into yet another story! Ffs!!!' Another agreed: 'I swear - Ryan better not get caught up with little Miss Kleptomaniacs stolen gun antics.' A third fan said: 'Why, why, why Corrie are you matching kind-hearted Ryan with bloody Jodie (even though Jodie is using Ryan to make David jealous. As if David would be jealous. Deluded Jodie!)? Can't the sinkhole open up & swallow her? Sick of her popping up in nearly every episode!'
Other Drama in Weatherfield
It comes as spoilers revealed other characters could find their secrets exposed next week. Gary and Sarah’s secretive behaviour has had fans guessing for weeks. Their private chats and sudden closeness hasn’t gone unnoticed by Weatherfield residents either. All will be revealed, however, as a dramatic dinner party, hosted by Sarah’s partner Kit Green, sees Maria publicly accusing Gary and Sarah of having an affair. Gary’s also forced to defend himself to detective Kit who accuses him of being linked to Theo Silverton’s murder, after a recent flashback placed him at the scene of the crime.
Maria's Suspicions
Despite Kit’s murder theory, Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria, says her character is adamant she’s rumbled Gary’s big secret. Samia, 43, tells us: 'She’s known for a few weeks that something is definitely not right between her and Gary. She’s been clocking these little sneaky conversations he’s been having with Sarah, and she’s put two and two together. She’s just convinced that they must be sleeping together.'
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
