In upcoming scenes, Lauren opens up to Ollie about her relationship reservations, leading to a passionate kiss that Ollie reciprocates. However, Amy walks in on the pair, leaving her tearful as she realises Ollie is not the man she thought he was.
As Amy confronts them, Lauren tries to speak but is shut down. Ollie attempts to defend his actions by suggesting Amy was ghosting him, but after a misunderstanding is cleared up, Amy fumes and declares she has had a lucky escape. Maggie then enters the room, asking Amy if she found Ollie, revealing that Amy had asked Maggie for his whereabouts and was directed to the back room where the kiss took place.
Questions arise over whether Maggie knew what Amy would walk into, as she has previously told Lauren to 'fight for her man', seemingly wanting to split Ollie and Amy up. This comes after Maggie earlier tried to separate Lauren and Ollie, leaving viewers puzzled about her motives.
The meddling may be linked to a reported new storyline suggesting that Amy's dad Steve McDonald and Ollie's dad Ben Driscoll are secretly brothers. If true, Maggie might be trying to prevent Ollie and Amy from entering a relationship due to a possible family connection. Next week also sees Maggie nervous as Ben accompanies Steve to his late father Jim McDonald's funeral, with reports that Jim will be revealed as Ben's real father.
