Coronation Street viewers believe a former favourite could return to Weatherfield to become Lucy Parkinson's guardian following her recent clash with Sally Metcalfe.
Lucy (Anya Lewis) made her debut on the ITV soap earlier this year as the daughter of Tim Metcalfe's (Joe Duttine) estranged cousin Richie (Nathan Sussex). After reuniting for the first time in years, Richie told Tim about his marital difficulties with his wife Rachel, revealing they were going through a turbulent period. Matters took a shocking turn when Tim visited Richie's home and found him wearing a blood-stained shirt with Rachel dead on the floor.
Richie was soon detained for his wife's murder and has been imprisoned. Lucy has settled in and been fostered by Tim and Sally (Sally Dynevor) at No. 8, but she has already shown a sinister streak, frequently manipulating those around her, according to the Daily Star.
Lucy's Respite Care Placement
The teenager has also been at odds with Sally, who inadvertently struck Lucy after her Halloween prank backfired, with Sally believing she was a burglar. Lucy then contacted social services and, to her surprise, was placed into respite care.
It has previously been disclosed that Lucy is Christina Boyd's (Amy Robbins) biological granddaughter. In Friday's episode (October 30), Christina revealed the truth to Lucy, leaving her gobsmacked.
Fan Predictions on Social Media
Now soap enthusiasts believe a former Coronation Street favourite could return to take on the role of Lucy's guardian. On a dedicated Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: "Another cheery episode! That Lucy is something else." Another added: "I wonder who she'll move in with next." A third predicted Christina's daughter Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan): "Daisy should come back and have her." Another fan wrote: "That's a good suggestion."
Daisy's History on the Cobbles
Daisy first appeared on the ITV soap in 2020 as the stepdaughter of Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews), quickly becoming a firm fan favourite. Throughout her time on the show, Daisy featured in major storylines, from a harrowing acid attack plot to shocking affairs.
In January 2025, actress Charlotte announced her departure from the soap, and in May, Daisy bid a dramatic farewell to the cobbles in explosive fashion. Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
