Coronation Street fans fear for Carla as Becky's smirk hints at sinister plot

Coronation Street viewers are growing increasingly concerned for Carla Connor after a chilling development in Becky Swain's storyline. Fans suspect Becky may have done something terrible to Carla, following a suspicious text message sent from Carla's phone to Lisa Swain.

In Friday's episode, Carla had been investigating Becky with the help of Kit Green, trying to prove she attacked DI Costello. Despite her efforts, Lisa ended their relationship, believing it wasn't working. Heartbroken, Carla initially planned a holiday but later decided to continue digging.

Later, Lisa received a text from Carla's phone telling her to stop contacting her. The message seemed out of character, and viewers noticed Becky smirking over Lisa's shoulder. Fans are now convinced Becky has orchestrated Carla's disappearance and may have harmed her.

One fan tweeted: 'That evil smirk by Lady Lazarus just confirmed that Carla is tied up somewhere and Becky now has Carla's phone!!!' Another added: 'That's how I know Carla didn't send that text, she would never put "please stop calling me" so bluntly.'

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
