Coronation Street and Emmerdale return to ITV tonight after a major schedule shake-up to their usual time slots. The soaps normally air weekdays at 8pm and 8.30pm, but with cancelled episodes and schedule changes, viewers have been confused about when they can find their favourite programmes on air this week.
It has been a disjointed week for soap fans due to ITV's coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale were cancelled on Tuesday and Thursday this week, which means viewers only had three opportunities to tune into the drama in the Dales and also in Weatherfield.
Fans will be pleased to know both soaps are back on Friday evening. Viewers can nestle down on the sofa for a night of drama in the Dales, followed by even more chaos in Weatherfield in two hour-long broadcasts.
Emmerdale airs at 8pm until 9pm, with Coronation Street at the later time of 9pm until 10pm.
The description for Friday's episode of Emmerdale reads: "Archie scams Caleb, while Gabby's healthy-eating obsession takes a darker turn and Graham urges Kyle to talk to Cain."
As for Coronation Street, fans can expect even more drama in the aftermath of Theo's murder. The teaser reads: "Sam's mental state declines severely when fact and fiction collide, a suspicious Maria is stood up by Gary, Debbie's pals organise a surprise holiday, and Carla makes a discovery."
Unfortunately, the disruption continues into next week. The ECHO has put together a schedule below so soap fans know when they can find the soaps on TV next week.
